South Korea, US, Japan Boost Economic Ties Amid North Korea Tensions

In a recent meeting held alongside the ASEAN-related ministerial gatherings in Manila, the foreign ministers of South Korea, the United States, and Japan expressed their unwavering commitment to reinforcing deterrence strategies against North Korea. This trilateral assembly, featuring South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Hyun, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi, focused on strengthening ties in regional security, economic resilience, and the advancement of emerging technologies.

The high-level discussions emphasized the need for ongoing coordination on policies concerning North Korea. The ministers collectively resolved to pursue the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula through sustained dialogue and diplomatic initiatives, all underpinned by credible deterrence measures.
